Washougal School District

Established in 1852, Washougal School District has the distinction of operating the first public school north of the Columbia River. Today, the district serves approximately 2,978 students across nine schools, including elementary, middle, and high schools.

At R&C Management, we are honored to support a district that prioritizes student achievement, safety, and community engagement. Washougal School District is committed to providing a nurturing and effective learning environment. The district’s average testing ranking places it in the top 50% of public schools in Washington, reflecting its dedication to academic excellence.

The district’s rich history is marked by continuous improvement and innovation. From the early days of schooling in homes and public buildings to recent modernization projects funded by community-supported bonds, Washougal School District has always been at the forefront of educational progress. Significant upgrades have included new school buildings, safety and security enhancements, and modernized facilities to better serve the needs of students and staff.

May of 2015

Soon after passing a bond in May 2015, WSD hired R&C Management Group to manage all of their bond projects as well as multiple capital improvements through other funding sources. The bond provided a new K-8 elementary and middle school, new transportation facility, seismic upgrades, district-wide safety, security and technology improvements. This work primarily completed end of 2018.
