Belonging for each, Success for all

Established in 1945, Evergreen Public Schools has grown to become one of the largest school districts in the state of Washington, serving approximately 22,000 students across 38 schools.

At R&C Management, we are honored to support a district that prioritizes student achievement, safety, and community engagement. Evergreen Public Schools offers a comprehensive educational experience, with a diverse array of programs designed to meet the needs of all students. The district includes numerous elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as alternative education options and specialized programs.

Evergreen Public Schools is committed to continuous improvement and innovation. Recent bond measures have enabled significant upgrades and new construction projects, ensuring that students have access to modern, safe, and well-equipped learning environments. The district’s strategic plan focuses on elevating student voice, enhancing behavioral health and suicide prevention efforts, and maintaining strong community partnerships.

The district’s rich history is marked by a commitment to excellence and adaptability. From its early days of serving a small community to its current status as a major educational institution, Evergreen Public Schools has always been dedicated to preparing students for future success. The district continues to drive forward initiatives that support academic achievement and student well-being.

2018 - Present: A New Era of Development - “Envision Evergreen”

One of the most notable bond measures in Washington state history was passed in February 2018, amounting to $695 million. This bond program, “Envision Evergreen” combined with state matching funds and impact fees, totaled over $800 million for construction projects. These funds have been used to rebuild and replace some of the oldest schools in the district and upgrade many others. For example, Mill Plain Elementary, the oldest elementary school in the district, was replaced with a new building on the same site. Similarly, Mountain View High School and Wy’east Middle School were rebuilt to provide safer and more modern facilities.

In addition to new constructions, Evergreen Public Schools has focused on maintaining and improving existing facilities. About $76 million of the bond funds were allocated for capital renewal projects. This comprehensive approach ensures that all schools within the district benefit from the bond measures, enhancing the overall educational environment.

2008: Building Foundations - Modernization and Expansion

A major bond was passed in 2008, focusing on modernizing older schools and building new ones to accommodate the district’s expansion. This bond included the construction of Henrietta Lacks Health and Bioscience High School, which opened in 2013, providing specialized education in health and biosciences. These efforts ensured that Evergreen Public Schools could offer state-of-the-art facilities and programs to its students.
